Joanne Muller Cummings

Joanne Cummings, age 92, passed away January 23, 2019. She was born in Chicago, IL to Yvette and Oscar Muller, Jr. They moved to Los Angeles when she was two and she always considered herself an Angelino. Joanne graduated from UCLA and was a tried and true Bruin especially when it came to basketball. She met and married Richard Wallace Cummings and her adventurous spirit came to life. Not many can move from “the city” to Wheeler Canyon! Joanne was active in PTA, the Briggs School Board, Cub Scouts, National Charity League, was a docent with the Museum of Ventura County and the Santa Paula Art Museum. In addition, she was a realtor with Merrill Lynch Realty and Prudential for many years. Joanne loved the ocean and enjoyed sailing in races on “Wet Wednesdays” in Santa Barbara, spending family vacations at Faria Beach, and taking many, many trips to Hawaii!

Joanne was an extremely proud Mother and Mama (Grandmother). It was important to her to balance the “country” lifestyle of her children and grandchildren with art, culture, fine dining and travel.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her son, Stephen Cummings (Debra); daughters, Paula Robertson (James), and Suzy Cummings; grandchildren, Scott, Christopher, Richard, Robert, Laura (Jason); and great grandchildren, Landon, and Lexi.

The graveside service is private. A get together for family and friends to celebrate Joanne’s life is planned. Please contact the family for time and place.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Santa Paula Art Museum or a charity of your choice.
