

Joe was born February 4, 1936, in Chicago, Ill to Frank and Dorothy Messineo. He was a resident of Ventura for 45 years moving here from Round Lake, Illinois.
Joe was a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service for 31 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Ventura Baptist Church.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved fishing at Lake Casitas. He also enjoyed playing the penny slot machines in Las Vegas and at the Chumash Casino.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Messineo of Ventura; son Wade Smith of Broken Arrow, Ok; daughter, Lori Kraige of Simi Valley; daughter and son-in-law, Tina Marie and Frank Molina of Meridian, Idaho; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Casi Messineo of Puyallup, Washington; grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Amanda and Joseph Kraige, Max, Carlye, Sarah and Victoria Molina, Lorenzo and Tabitha Messineo, and one great grandson, Charlie Miller; his sister, Diane Hansen as well as nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Messineo.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at Ventura Baptist Church, 5415 Ralston Street, Ventura, with The Reverend Dr. Leonard DeWitt officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camarillo Hospice or to Buena Vista Hospice.
