

Born September 18, 1944, in Ventura, Joyce was a lifelong Ventura County resident graduating from Ventura High School and working for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for 16 years. But maybe more rewarding was volunteering several years for the Special Olympics and as a Cuddler in the nursery at Community Memorial Hospital.
Joyce was preceded in death by daddy, Fred Bellini, mother, Bertha Mae (Stevenson) Bellini, daughter, Sheri Lyn Merriman, and paternal father, James Oditt.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Dean Merriman; siblings, Joann Mills, Jean Harbison, John Mills, Brenda Ulery (Cameron), Greg Oditt and Carolyn Oditt; grandchildren, Christopher Merriman, Cassi Crow, Andrew Merriman, Damion Marinos (Gingerlee), Cody Marinos, Melony Marinos, Tyler, Cash and Chloe Merriman; great grandchildren, Michael, Joseph, Jonah and Sophee Lyn. Joyce also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and her faithful canine companion “Shorty.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the friends and Buena Vista Hospice for their love and support.
Visitation will be held On Tuesday December 22, 2015, from 4pm until 8pm, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Services will also be held at Ted Mary Funeral Home, on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, 11am. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, in Ventura. Reception to follow.
