

Margaret was born March 15, 1925 to Joe V. Blount and Lonie Craig on the Cocopah Indian Reservation in Yuma, Arizona. She grew up in Moreno Valley, California and had been a Ventura County resident 62 years.
She enjoyed meeting people at her places of employment, Okies in Foster Park, Jack’s Round Up and Buck & Sonny’s. Margaret will be remembered for her western attire and sparkling blue eyes. Her favorite song was “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain,” by Willie Nelson. She loved to dance to country western music and was a member of the Old Time Fiddlers.
Margaret spent many years volunteering her time in her community and welcome everyone into her home and heart.
She is survived by her son, Donald (Cheryl) Luker of Warsaw, Missouri; daughters Debbie (Steven) Echols Vervoon of Cheshire, Oregon, Darlene (Kyle) Echols Silvester of Tyler, Texas and Deidra Pitner-Taylor (Mike McMichael) of Oxnard, CA; four sisters, Viva Walker of Texas, Joyce Smallwood of New Mexico, Juanita Williams of Santa Clarita, Nancy Davis of Arizona and sister-in-law, Anita Blount of Riverside ; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many close friends she considered family. Margaret was preceded in death by her two sons, David and Danny Luker; sister, Betty Underwood; and brothers, Howard J. Blount , Dr.Allie C. Blount, Charles Blount and. Robert Blount.
Visitation will be held at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, CA 93003 on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Services will be held on Friday, October 19th, 11:30 A.M. also at Ted Mayr Funeral Home, with The Reverend Dan Hull officiating. Interment will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home.
