Marlene Joyce Spencer

Marlene Spencer, of Ojai, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012, following a year long fight with cancer. She was born December 27, 1933 in Taft, California, and lived in Ventura County for most of her life.

Marlene married Dan Spencer in 1955, and together they motorcycled across the United States and traveled throughout Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, England, and Isle of Man, making life-long friends all along the way.

They were devoted to their daughter Dani and granddaughter Kylie, and regularly had friends and family over to enjoy Marlene's famous cooking. After Dan's passing in 2002, Marlene carried on the tradition of warmth and hospitality along with her trusty sidekick dog, Sturgis.

She is survived by her daughter Dani Vandiver; son-in-law Jesse Vandiver; and granddaughter Kylie Stump. She will be missed by her loving family and many friends.
