

Maureen “MOE” Ford peacefully passed on August 12th, 2015, after a 15 year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on September 16, 1944. Maureen was the second child of Thomas & Elizabeth (Dunne) Ford. She Graduated from Sacred Heart High in 1962 and entered The Order of the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Maureen graduated from the Elms College and taught in Springfield, Massachusetts for three years.
In 1970 she moved to England and Taught for 34 years in the Department of Defense Dependent Schools. She taught History and coached softball, volleyball, and tennis. Maureen won a number of European championships, and loved working with her kids.
She took advantage of her time in England and traveled to so many places: Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Germany, Australia, India, two Africa safaris, Israel, Egypt and many more.
In 2004 she retired and moved to Ventura. She joined the Benchwarmer, Olivas Ladies, and river Ridge Ladies golf clubs. With her outgoing way and friendly smile she made so many friends.
Maureen volunteered at the TO Civic Center, the Rubicon and the Tiger tournament at Sherwood Country Club.
Maureen was preceded in death by her parents; Sister Sheila; and brother, Billy.
She is survived by her brother, Thomas and wife Patricia; niece, Dr. Sheila Ford and husband Dr. Fred Mading; grandniece, Regan Mading; and grandnephew, Griffin Mading. Also, by the countless friends she has made during her life.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2015 5:00PM-8:00PM, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, Ventura, California.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Assumption on Wednesday August 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
