Perry Miller

Pastor Perry Miller, 83, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Santa Paula Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on January 4, 1927 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and had been a resident of Ventura County for 55 years.He was the Pastor of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Ventura.Perry was an avid golfer and belonged to Saticoy Regional Senior Men’s Golf Club, the Buena Ventura Senior Men’s Golf Club and the Mt. View Senior Men’s Golf Club in Santa Paula. When he was 75 he shot his age and once hit a hole in one.Perry was married to his wife Hazel for 59 wonderful years. He is also survived by his children,Jo Ann Janzen and Dennis Miller (Betty); grandchildren, Michelle and Cheryl Janzen and Jason and Michael Miller (Katie); great grandson, Kalib Miller and niece, Judy Fowler. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Miller and Roy Pennington.Perry loved his family. His grandchildren and great grandson were the light of his life. He will be dearly missed.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2009 with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, both at Charles Carroll Funeral Home, 15 Teloma Dr., Ventura. 642-8134.
