Pilar Sastre Judal

Pilar Sastre Judal, 87, of Oxnard, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, following a brief illness. She was born October 12, 1927, in Silang, Cavite, Philippines, to Pedro Sastre and Salvadora (Marquez) Sastre.

Pilar was a wonderfully caring and kind person. She was a devout catholic and never missed Sunday mass. Pilar volunteered to teach Catechism at a local grade school for one year. She loved gardening, crocheting and playing scrabble with her friends.

Pilar is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Cecilio Calazan Judal. She is survived by her children, Troadio Sastre (May) Judal, Pilsieditas Sastre (George) Sayther and Angelito Sastre (Nitya) Judal; grandchildren, Joel, Jennifer, Nikki, Tina, Danielle, Jason and Desiree; great-grandchildren, Marlyn, Sofia, Myles and Mira; sister, Glory Toledo; and sister-in-law, Josefina Nazareno.

Funeral services for Pilar will be held at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, with visitation beginning at 2:00p.m., service to follow at 3:00p.m.
