

Sgt. Roy Stewart Worman, Jr., 88, died peacefully, Sunday September 25, 2011 after battling Alzheimer’s and Dementia for many years. Roy was born December 20, 1922 in Baldwin Park, California. A native Californian, Roy lived in Hemet and Sacramento before coming to Ventura two years ago.
Roy had a great love of motorcycles and enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and building things. For over fifty years he was a mechanic working in commercial and residential construction.
A decorated Veteran of WWII, Roy served in the Army Air Corp in the Asiatic Pacific Theater; China, Burma and India, until his honorable discharge in 1946.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Audna Worman; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Anastasia Worman of Ventura; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Michael Allison of Sacramento; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Richard Cota of Idaho; grandchildren; Crystal, Blake, Catherine, David, Diana, Gina, and Jennifer. Also, his dog, Brutis.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Cypress Place Assisted Living for their love and support of our dad. It was like having a second family.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 1:15 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2011at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buran Blvd. Riverside, California 92518.
