Ruben Ray Gutierrez

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ruben Ray Gutierrez. Better known as Ray by his loved ones, Ray passed away at the age of 49, on Tuesday, September 15, 2015, surrounded by his family.

He leaves behind his father, Ruben; sisters, Carmen (Joe), Maria (Eli), Terry and Francis; brother, Tony; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Emma, sister, Angie, brother, Raymond and niece, Amanda.

Ray was born on April 26, 1966, in Ventura, California. He enjoyed spending his days going for drives along the coast with his mother, Emma and father, Ruben as well as long walks on the beach and at the mall. He loved doing puzzles and eating at his favorite restaurant, IHOP.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015, from 4 to 8pm, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, in Ventura and all are welcome. A celebration of Ray’s life is scheduled for 11am on Friday, September 25, 2015, at Oxnard Revival Center, 2640 Alvarado Street, in Oxnard. Burial will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, in Ventura, immediately following the service.
