

She was born on January 15, 1962, in South Boston, Virginia and moved to Ventura in 1977. She graduated from Ventura High School in 1980. Shari attended Ventura College and received her certification in phlebotomy and worked at Santa Paula Hospital for three years before joining the staff at Ventura County Medical Center where she began her career in histology receiving certification and continuing in that field becoming the lead Histologist for VCMC where she had worked for 25 years.
Shari was an athlete participating in many sports during her high school years and excelled in running track and soccer. She continued her love of the outdoors and sports throughout her life.
In 1984 Shari and Rodger Watson were married and had two beautiful children who she adored, Rebecca and Evan. They enjoyed many wonderful family camping trips and water skiing at Lake Nacimiento, as well as many outings at the beach and snow skiing at Mammoth and June Lake. Shari enjoyed watching her daughter dance and cheerlead for Ventura High and loved watching her son surf in various surf contests.
Shari was a devoted mother and will be deeply missed by her son, Evan Watson; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca Faye Watson Martinez and Robby Martinez, and granddaughter, Lillian Martinez all of Ventura; parents, Marilyn and Robert Kennon of Las Vegas, Nevada; brothers, Jeffrey Lantor of Ventura, Nyles Lantor of Texas, Barnet Lantor of Utah; former husband, Rodger Watson of Ventura; Mother-in-law, Peggy Watson of Ventura.

Graveside services will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, 2:00 P.M. with Rabbi Michael Lotker officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
