Stanley Ortega Morales, 69, was called home to be with our Lord on February 16, 2018, in Camarillo, California. He was surrounded by his family when he passed of congestive heart failure. He was born on July 16, 1948, in Saticoy, California, to Anselmo and Lillian Morales. He was a life-long resident of Ventura County.
Stan loved the Lord and always shared with others God’s word, love, and grace since accepting Christ in his heart in the early ‘70s. He touched many lives through his personal testimony, music ministry playing the guitar, writing his own songs, and singing God’s praise with family members in the Soul Investors band. He was a strong-willed man that stood his ground, but lended a helping hand to his family and friends.
He had several hobbies through the years, playing baseball in childhood years, and later managing a men’s softball team called The Saints in Saticoy with his father Anselmo. He started a mini-truck club called Majestic Touch. He enjoyed working in the garage always customizing and detailing the vehicles he owned. He later found freedom in the openness of riding his Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle and meaning spending time with his grandchildren when they were young. He will be remembered by his signature mustache, orange-tinted eyeglasses and a serious gaze.
He was a hard worker, and when newly married at a young age, he rode a bicycle to work to provide for his family. He was employed in the construction field most of his life. He worked as a forklift driver, an electrician, and other jobs before finding his greatest satisfaction driving powerful 18-wheeler semi-trucks. Whether it was a flat bed, cement truck, refrigeration truck, transfer truck, he drove them all safely and with amazing precision.
He will be missed and is survived by Lorraine Morales, his wife of many years; their three daughters and their families: Darlene Bernard and husband David and children Benjamin and Renee, of Ventura, California; Rachel Morales and children Joseph, Jacob, Sierra, and Emily, of Ventura, California; Regina Morales and fiancée Bill Nevils, of Long Beach, California; and many extended family members.
Loved ones meeting him at heaven’s gate are his parents Anselmo and Lillian Morales and his siblings: Sammy Morales, Stephen Morales, and Sandra Marquez; niece Marlene, and nephew Anselmo, both children of Sammy and Evelyn Morales.
Stan was cremated and will be buried with his parents at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park. A burial service will be held at his parents’ gravesites at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Road, Ventura, California 93003, on Friday, March 9, 2018, 10:30 a.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com
