Micheline Laperrière

Mère et grand-mère aimante et attentionnée, Micheline laisse nos trois enfants : Marie-Soleil (Marc Seltzer), Éloïse (Thomas Pannell), Alexis (Camille Chagnon) et nos six petits-enfants chéris : Arthur, Ariane, Charlotte, Eleanor, Laurie, Léah. Sa sœur Denise et ses frères Pierre et Richard lui survivent.

L’éducation et la gestion furent au cœur de la vie de Micheline : enseignante au primaire en milieu défavorisé, formatrice en alphabétisation au Carrefour d’éducation populaire de Pointe St-Charles, coordonnatrice aux ressources humaines de la Clinique communautaire de Pointe St-Charles.

Micheline aimait la vie simple et les gens, particulièrement sa famille immédiate. Elle appréciait aussi la lecture, les plantes et la musique. Sa plus belle expérience professionnelle fut l’enseignement en alphabétisation et formation de base à des immigrantes et immigrants qu’elle admirait et révérait.

Micheline avait aussi été militante, puis permanente à la Jeunesse étudiante catholique du Canada (JEC) dont elle fut la dernière secrétaire générale en 1969, prônant la déconfessionnalisation et la démocratisation de l’Éducation.

Selon ses volontés, Micheline sera inhumée au cimetière East Bolton Cemetery, dans la municipalité d’Austin.

Micheline soutenait, entre autres, Médecins sans frontières (MSF).

Une commémoration aura lieu à une date ultérieure.

Micheline Laperrière, of Montreal and Austin, QC, daughter of Maurice Laperrière and Marguerite Langlais, wife of Serge Wagner, passed away on March 7, 2025.

A loving and caring mother and grandmother, Micheline leaves our three children: Marie-Soleil (Marc Seltzer), Éloïse (Thomas Pannell), Alexis (Camille Chagnon), and our six cherished grandchildren: Arthur, Ariane, Charlotte, Eleanor, Laurie, and Léah. She is survived by her sister Denise and her brothers Pierre and Richard.

Education and management were central to Micheline's life: elementary school teacher in a disadvantaged community, literacy trainer at the Carrefour d'éducation populaire de Pointe St. Charles, human resources coordinator at the Pointe St. Charles Community Clinic.

Micheline loved the simple life, and people, especially her immediate family. She also enjoyed reading, plants, and music. Her finest professional experience was teaching literacy and basic education to immigrants, whom she admired and revered.

Micheline had also been an activist, then a full-time member of the Jeunesse Étudiante Catholique du Canada (JEC), where she served as its last Secretary General in 1969, advocating for the deconfessionalization and democratization of Education.

In accordance to her wishes, Micheline will be buried in the East Bolton Cemetery, in the municipality of Austin.

Micheline supported, among others, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
