

Deanna "Ann" Simpson was taken from us too soon. She was born in Nipawin ,Saskatchewan, the fourth child out of 11, to Hazel and George Anweiler. At the age of eleven, she moved with half the family to Aldergrove, BC. She started working at 15 and met Jim Simpson at 17. He was an Irish immigrant and his lilting charm and big smile swept her off her feet. They were married in 1960. They both wanted a large family and over the next seven years had four sons and then finally , a daughter. Dennis, Mark, Tony , Tim and Cheryl were a close group and came up with all kinds of adventures . Jim and Ann decided the city wasn't where they wanted to raise their family and Jim yearned for a farm in the country. They packed up the truck and moved to the small town of Vernon. The finally found a house in the cold stream valley and raised their family over the next 30 years. While the kids were small, Ann stayed home . She was always busy, baking, canning, tending the various farm animals and the countless pets. After her kids were all in school full time, Ann worked at the Consumers glass plant for many years. She also was a Boy Scout leader for the Lavington troop. After Jim passed away in 1997 , Ann moved to a small house in town where she grew her garden and enjoyed her 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Ann will be missed by Many people, she made friends easily and had a kind heart. She would always take time to listen to anyone's problems. Her six surviving sisters and two brothers will miss her deeply as well as her children.
