Erma Thomson

1929 - 2012

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Irma Thomson (nee Van Dillen) on April 14th, 2012. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her beloved family: her husband Ken of 62 years; her son Craig (Jackie); her daughter Judy; and her grandchildren: Scott (Sherry), Jonathan, Lindsay, and Kurt; sisters: Marg, Vera, and Ella; sister-in-law Edith; brothers-in-law Eldon and Nick. Irma was predeceased by her son Doug, sister Dell, and brother Otto.

Irma was one of six children born to Hubert and Olga Van Dillen. They lived in the Pembina Valley and this was where she happily grew up.

On December 16th, 1950, in a United Church in Winnipeg, Ken married Irma. They lived in Manitoba where they raised their family and farmed. She loved her family, friends and animals.

"I saw the Lord always before me.

Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope, because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence." Acts 2:25-28

A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home on April 28th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Brian Jackson, officiating.
