After a long, courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father James Joseph Dooley. Predeceased by his parents James and Mary Dooley (nee Murphy). Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 56 years Roz Dooley (nee Laidley), his children Lisa (Jamie) and Paul (Michelle), his brother Tom (Gail) and sister Doreen (George), special friends Nikki and Tony Lockyer, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends and his pride and joy; his grandchildren.
Jim was a husband, a father, a brother, a son, an uncle and a friend, but his most cherished role was being Papa Jim. He loved being Papa Jim so much that he was everyone's Papa Jim and was dearly loved by all.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and care attendants at Kelowna General Hospital, the Cancer Care Clinic in Kelowna, the Vernon Jubilee Hospital and North Okanagan Hospice Society for their care and compassion, especially in his final days.
At Jim's request, there will be no visitation, service or burial, but you can pay your respects by being kind and genuine and trying to see the humour in life.
