

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Paulina Vincent. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She passed away on April 2, 2025. Mary Paulina was born in Pembroke, ON on February 10, 1947. She had many jobs over her lifetime. Mary Paulina absolutely loved being a care aid in her later years. She graduated from Sprott Shaw with honours and academic excellence. Being the first Algonquin elder to do so at the age of 63. She loved being around people, laughing and cracking jokes. Her hobbies included bingo, beadwork and native crafts. She was an amazing artist. She also loved cards and dice. Mary Paulina was a strong Algonquin woman. In the summer of 1974, she was involved in “Anicinabe Park Occupation”. Standing hand in hand with her friends, fighting for First Nation rights. She is survived by her loving children.
Corine, Selena, Shane, Candi, predeceased by Robin Timothy. Her grandchildren, James, Jessica, Farron, Natasha, Robin, Dallan, Neven. Her great grandchildren, Rose, Candice, Gabriel, Jackson, Oliver, Meeka, Helena, Nyomi, Roman, Leo, Cyrus, Ocean. And her siblings, William, Robert, Thomas, Laurie, Dianne, Julia. Predeceased by, James, Randall, Joanne, Rhonda, Judith. A Memorial Service will be held in her honour at Pleasant Valley Funeral home at 1:00pm on April 22, 2025.
