Peter James Hughes

Peter James Hughes was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick to parents Walter and Alice. Peter is survived by his devoted and loving wife Julie, and his treasured brother and sister, Mike and Sue. Peter was a brother-in-law to Helen and Peter, and also a beloved uncle to Melanie, Peter, Luke, Calee, Blisse, Chloe, Sandy and Kevin. After his marriage to Julie, Peter was adopted by a whole new family and set of friends in Australia, and was especially loved and respected by his father-in-law Dan.

Peter was loved and cherished by all whose lives he touched in Canada, Australia and other destinations far and wide. There were no adventures that Peter would not undertake, and everyone loved to listen to his wondrous tales of a life well lived.

If there were qualities that would best describe Peter, it would be his gentle nature, his wonderful sense of humour, his love of life and all of its twists and turns, and his truly genuine love and interest in the lives of his family and friends.

Though the terrible loss of Peter is indescribable, the blessing of having known and loved him lives on in our hearts, minds and prayers forever.
