

It is with much sadness & regret that the family announces the passing of Randy Rose at the age of 64 years, after his brave battle with cancer. Randy passed away with his loving wife and family by his side on August 24, 2018.
Randy was the eldest son of Harold and Blanche Rose and was predeceased by his father Harold Rose. Randy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Jennifer Rose, son Kyle Rose (Diane), daughter Michelle Bulten (Walter), son Cody Rose (Shanna), grandsons Bjorn and Kaeden Bulten, mother Blanche Rose, brother Darcy Rose (Marlene) and family, brother Jamie Rose (Kelli) and family, sister Karen Rusnak (Brad) and family, brother in-law/sister in-law Stan and Polly Hollingsworth and family, brother in-law Perry Hollingsworth, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.
Randy graduated from high school in Salmon Arm and attended OUC, Lethbridge Community College, and the University of Victoria. Randy worked 35 years in Municipal Government in Vernon, Sicamous, and Lake Country. Randy was very community minded. He obtained high level coaching certificates in hockey and coached minor hockey, soccer, baseball and lacrosse. He was instrumental in assisting the Lake Country Senior Housing Society obtain land that the Blue Heron Villa now sits on and was a volunteer member of the that board for many years. Randy also held all of the executive positions within the Lake Country Lions Club over the years. In addition, he volunteered his time at the local Senior & Lions Club events, playing music (piano) with his good friend Doug (guitar) and sometimes Uncle Len (saxophone) would join the group.
Randy had many passionate hobbies over the years. They included; music, portrait/landscape painting, fishing, camping, cycling, kayaking, gardening, cooking, genealogy, and wood working, and was a builder’s dream handyman. Randy was an avid reader and had great knowledge of history and geography, recalling many interesting WW1 & WW2 history facts and stories to family and friends.
Randy loved his family and friends and spent as much time as he could with them. Randy nurtured his two grandsons Bjorn and Kaeden, spending time with them, swimming, reading, hiking, bicycling, camping, and building projects. Randy spent time with his loving wife, camping, cycling, hiking, swimming, cross country skiing, and taking some memorable vacation trips. He was a wonderful story teller, had a great sense of humour, loved socializing and cooking at family and friend gatherings.
Randy was a highly ethical man who was always thinking of others. He will be missed by his loving family, friends and all the lives he touched & mentored over the years.
A "Celebration of Life" service will be held on Sunday, September 23rd at the Oyama Community Club Hall, 15710 Oyama Rd. Oyama, B.C. @ 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lake Country Lions Club, Kelowna Hospice House, the Red Cross or the Cancer Society.
