He worked as a barber in Prince Rupert for a short while before settling in at the pulp mill in Campbell River, B.C. This is where family life began on the small farm mom and dad called home for 27 years. Many memories were made there. He loved that life. Work was never his life.
They retired and moved to Vernon, B.C. and he enjoyed the many golf courses the Okanagan had to offer. Ron was an avid health and fitness man. The family wishes instead of flowers or donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, start or keep an active lifestyle and keep fit!
Ron is predeceased by his parents, brother Norm and sisters Vivian and Lorraine.
He leaves to mourn with lasting memories, his wife of 58 years, Jan. His kids Sharon (Mike), Shelley (Andy) and Terry. His grandkids Samantha, Hayden, Steven, Michael and Jamie as well as one great grandchild, Finley. He will also be missed by his friends and relatives…everybody could talk to Ron and Ron was a man who would always listen. Funeral arrangements in care of Pleasant Valley Funeral Home, Vernon, BC. 250-542-4333.
