Simon was born in Jugoslavia, and was a farmer in Germany prior to moving to Canada in 1983, where he farmed in Manitoba until his retirement to the North Okanagan in 1989.
Simon was a member of the Schubert Centre, and loved dancing and German-orientated activities.
He is survived by three sons: Willi (Monika) and Armin (Sonja) in Germany, and Guenther (Angelika) in Grindrod; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and extended family members in Germany.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Vernon Funeral Home, with Father Dale Normandeau officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Vernon Funeral Home 250-542-0155. Condolences may be offered at www.vernonfuneralhome.com
