It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father and grandfather, Victor John Marshall. Vic was born in Rugby Warwickshire England on December 27, 1924 and passed away peacefully September 18, 2016 at Vernon Hospice House.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Bridget, in 2008. He leaves behind 4 sons, Kevin (Anne) of Prince George, Neil (Lindsay) of Surrey, Wayne of Kelowna and David (Lisa) of Vernon, and seven grandchildren, Kade, Brynn, Carlin, Chelsea, Owen, Savannah and Jakob.
Vic is also survived by his sisters, Edie and Peg, his brother Bernard as well as many nieces and nephews all in England, Wales and Ireland.
Married in 1956, Vic and Bridget settled in Abbotsford and in 1974 moved the family to Vernon where Vic worked for the Ministry of Agriculture until his retirement. A dedicated family man, we are all so fortunate to have shared so many memorable moments with him.
The family would like to thank Vic’s many friends and the staff of Columbus Court and Hospice House for their friendship and care.
Prayer service will be held Friday Sept 30th at 5pm, with Memorial Mass held Saturday Oct 1st at 9am and a tea following the mass, all at St James Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to Vernon Hospice House.
Arrangements under the direction of Vernon Funeral Home, Vernon, BC.
