Art was born to Anna and Stach Dulaba in Innisfree Alberta on December 20, 1931. The family moved to Vernon in 1948, where Art graduated from high school.
He was an accomplished accordion player at a young age, who loved to entertain at dances all over the Vernon area.
When he worked behind the camera counter of Vernon Drug Company, he met the love of his life: Madeleine (DeeDee) Teasdale. They wed on May 31, 1963 and were married for 42 years.
Art had a passion for photography, gardening and figuring out how he could build and fix anything.
