Jeremy L. Mathus, 40, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Friday, January 6, 2017. He had made Ohio his home for the last 20 years, settling in the Village of Versailles-a town he quickly grew to love.
Jeremy was a certified landscape technician and had achieved his certificate from OSU. Jeremy’s passion was horticulture and his dream was to become a landscape architect. He had a love of flowers and gardening from a young age. He was never able to realize his dream. Due to his quickly deteriorating health and constant pain he had become disabled.
Jeremy advocated for equality in all things and spoke out passionately against all social injustices. He is remembered as a loyal friend who was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. He mentored and ministered to friends and strangers alike when he sensed they needed advice or just a kind word.
He is survived by his fiancé, Brittany brown, their daughter, Chasadee and an unborn son, Jeremy Jr. due in April; his mother, Susan Walker; sister, Michelle Followay (Jeff); grandmother, Mary Lou Walker; niece, Morgan Followay; children, Jason and Angelina; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and close friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Laura Shreffler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
