

Kay L. Poeppelman, 74 of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on Sunday October 12, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Hospice of Miami County. Kay was born January 17, 1951, in Greenville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Vernon and Dorothy (Kremer) Winner.
Kay worked as a Nurse at Wayne Healthcare for 28 years and as a Librarian at Bradford Public Library for 8-10 years. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church where she was very active as a Sacrist and Eucharist Minister; she enjoyed volunteering at the Darke County Parks and the library where she helped with the youth activities; she was a member of the Friends of Bears Mill; she enjoyed gardening, kayaking, hiking, bird watching and loved traveling; and most of all she loved taking care of babies.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents, and her nieces and nephew, Shelly Buxton, Brett Oliver, and Jennifer Winner.
Kay is survived by her husband, James A. Poeppelman whom she married September 2, 1972; her children and spouses, Lori and Robert DiRenzo, Jared Poeppelman and Fiancée Susan, and Lee and Rachelle Poeppelman; her grandchildren, Owen and Lydia DiRenzo, Maggie, Nia, Lucy, Oliver, Ethan, and Noah Poeppelman; her siblings and spouses, Beverly Mayer, Larry and Cheryl Winner, Jean Buxton, LouAnn Lowe, J.D. and Julie Winner, Mike and Ann Winner, and Renee Miller and her significant other Steve Trezini; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 22, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at St. Denis Catholic Church in Versailles with Rev. Fr. Ned Brown Celebrant. Burial following in St. Valbert Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday October 21, 2025, and from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
