Annette married and had two children. Her first daughter Simone-Louise Woodley was born in Paisley Scotland in 1968. Following the birth of Simone, Annette and family moved to Calgary Alberta to join her relatives the Frasers, where her second daughter Amanda Wetherly Brown was born in 1971.
The family lived a year in Scotland, returned to Medicine Hat Alberta and settled in Victoria in 1974. Annette pursued further education at Dalhousie University in Halifax, where she obtained qualifications as a nurse practitioner. Annette worked from the Arctic to the Labrador Coast and throughout remote BC. She wrote of her nursing adventures in her published book Nurse Stuck in The Snow. Annette retired from the Federal Government in 2005.
Following her career Annette enjoyed volunteering at The Royal BC Museum, singing with the Victoria Philharmonic Choir and globetrotting. Annette made many lasting friendships in her life including at the Glenshiel where she lived out her days. She cherished her time with her daughters and granddaughter Natasha Woodley, where they shared a joy for animals and nature on their walks together.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Victoria General Hospital who cared for her with compassion and skill.
