Bert was born in Germany and moved to Canada as a teenager. He had many careers including cab driving, pharmaceutical sales, real estate pursuits, car sales and candle making. Bert and his wife Margaret enjoyed over fifty years together and had two children, Max and Sarah. Bert also had four grandchildren: Zachary, Reuben, Aidan and Amy. Bert valued highly his close marriage to Margaret and his family life. Additionally, his many beloved friendships, most spanning decades, were very important to him.
Bert is predeceased by his mother and father, Gerda and Bardo, his brother Ralph, and his wife, Margaret.
He is survived by his son Max, daughter Sarah, and 4 grandchildren Zachary, Reuben, Aidan, and Amy.
Bert was clever, entrepreneurial, charming, insightful and a wonderful storyteller. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed.
