Betty Ann Mckenzie

Betty died peacefully at Royal Jubilee hospital. Betty was born in Nelson BC, after graduating high school she moved to Vancouver, and graduated as a Registered Nurse from St. Paul’s Hospital Nursing School. Betty finished her 45 year, nursing career as a pediatric nurse at Victoria General Hospital. After nursing, she volunteered at the St Vincent De Paul Social Concerns office.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Allan W. McKenzie, Predeceased by son Grant, in 2002 and survived by children Sandy Bourbeau, Keith McKenzie, Dari McKenzie and husband, Jim Peters, grandchildren, Rachael Bourbeau, Emily Bourbeau, Isabella Blanchard and Aiden Blanchard.

She is survived by siblings (and spouses), Fay and Jim Swanson, Tom and Leila Hufty, Harry and Margaret Hufty, and Pat and Ron Speirs. Nieces and nephews, Katie Swanson Nielsen, Mark Swanson, Michael Swanson, Jolene Hufty, Christine Conrad, Kelly Hufty-Self, Susan Hufty, Kirsten Dunsford, Courtenay Chow, Wayne Shufelt, Tom Shufelt, Allan Shufelt, Gene Shufelt, Leslie Shufelt, Leanne Shufelt, Barry McKenzie, and Neil McKenzie and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

No funeral will be held at her request. A viewing will take place at 1st Memorial Funeral Services at 4725 Falaise Drive, Victoria, BC on Friday, June 17th, 2016 between the hours of 10:00am and 12:00 pm.
