Catherine "Babs" Mary O'Neil

1931 - February 6, 2025

With family by her bedside, our wonderful Mom peacefully passed after a brief stay at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Bob, she will always be in the hearts of her daughters, Patty O'Neil and Linda Romeril, and her son, Ken (Linda) O'Neil. She also leaves 5 grandchildren: Anita, Deanna, Scott, Elaine and Jillian; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends. Mom was also predeceased by her parents Kate and Bill Court, sister Marion Sluggett and brother Bill Court, all of whom she loved very much.

“Catherine” to her school friends and “Babs” to her family and adult friends, Mom was born and raised in Victoria, attending Kingston Street and South Park Elementary Schools in the early years and then Vic West High School.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mason and the RJH nursing staff for the wonderful care they provided. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to Dr. Mike Johns and the MAiD team.

Mom's Celebration of Life service will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Dr. in Victoria, B.C., on Friday May 30, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Due to allergies, the family requests no flowers, please. Donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of BC, two of Mom’s favourite charities.
