

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charles (Bill) Stanley Warnick in Victoria, B.C. on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Bill was 91 years of age and is survived by Eileen Ruby Warnick, his wife of 73 years; his sons Robert (Linda) and Kenneth (Jane); grandchildren Stuart, Jeffery (Carrie), Jason (Andrea), Douglas, David (Joanna); and great grandchildren Nolen, Madeline, Kyle, Zachary, Tristan, Kyle, Dakota, Jackson, Chase and Cruze. Bill was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Slobodian.
Bill was born in 1926 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He spent his younger years in Kimney and Winnipeg, joined the Navy and served in WWII on board the ship Minnow; received several medals; the last medal for time spent on the Murmansk Run. Bill then worked for Texaco in Winnipeg and in 1959 was transferred to Edmonton with his wife and two sons. After retiring from Texaco in 1984, Bill was hired by Poly Bottle to set up a plant in Mississauga, Ontario. Bill then returned to Alberta, lived at Pigeon Lake and in 1988 retired to Victoria, where he was quite involved with the local social club for retirees of Texaco/Imperial Oil.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at 1155 Fort Street, Victoria, B.C.
