Dolores was born in Anselmo, Alberta. As a young child she moved with her family to Sidney, BC.
Dolores was ageless to her family. She was content to be with people, to sit, chat and listen. In her senior years she lived in care in the Victoria area where she took part in the Pathways Program through the Garth Homer Society. During this time she made many new friends that truly came to love her. These years really opened up her world.
She always had a smile and loved to have a cup of coffee and cookies with her visitors. She loved babies and was always excited when a new great niece or great nephew joined the ever growing family. Animals always seemed drawn to Dolores. She loved it when a cat or dog would give her some attention and sit with her.
Dolores enjoyed doing crafts and loved to give her handmade items as gifts to family and friends. Dolores enjoyed curling and her team won medals in the Special Olympics.
Heartfelt thanks to her wonderful caregivers and friends at The Royal Oak House who were so kind, loving and compassionate right to the end of Dolores’ life.
Dolores is survived by her sisters Bessie, Barbara and sister-in-law Fran, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and many caring friends. Predeceased by loving parents Ed and Martha Wilkinson and brother Leo, brothers-in-law Willy and Tom and nephew Kevin.
