A graduate of Mount Douglas in 1989, Diane obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria. Her studies, and her work, took her all over the world. She had a deep love and respect for all cultures, but Thailand held a special place in her heart.
Diane’s amazing sense of humour, fierce independence, and incredible kindness towards others was a constant source of warmth and inspiration in our lives. Laughter and humour were very important to her, and she had a unique ability to make others laugh, even in the midst of pain. Diane loved all animals but her love for her cat, Shadow, was special. Multiple Sclerosis took many things from Diane, but it did not take her warrior spirit or her sense of humour. Her beautiful spirit lives on in our hearts. She is survived by her parents, Fred and Marg, her sisters Sandra (brother-in-law Chris) and Karen (partner Tim) and Shadow.
Our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated and compassionate “boots on the ground” health care workers – the RNs and care aides, in particular – at both Jubilee and VGH, and also to Sarah and Stephanie and the care aides on the Oak Bay Gordon Head Community Health Team.
