He was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, and emigrated to Victoria with family at the age of five.
After completing high school at Mt. View School, he travelled abroad for one year and, upon his return, immediately enrolled in the Carpentry Program at Camosun College. Ted's incredible work ethic led to a longstanding career as a carpenter, spending over 45 years working with Farmer Construction.
As an avid outdoorsman, Ted could always be found along the West Coast fishing for salmon or out in the wild searching for local game animals. Being a true adventurer, Ted had a passion for travel and spend much of his later years touring Europe and the beaches of Hawaii, Cuba and Mexico along with his wife, Freda.
Ted cherished his family and friends, always at the sidelines of family members' sporting events, renovating friends' houses, generally helping out wherever he could. He also enjoyed his time volunteering at the Goldstream Fish Hatchery.
Ted's quiet strength, warmth and loyalty will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Ted was predeceased by his first son, Christian (1973), and his parents Erik and Ellen.
He is survived by his wife, Freda, sons Tyler (Sandy) and Travis (Sara), stepchildren Desiree (Brendan), Tracy, Kenn (Sanae), 9 grandchildren and sister Grethe (Pat)
At his request, no service will be held, but we ask that you think of him and say "Skȧl" to his memory.
