Daddy, this was a rough one, was already having a difficult few days, thankfull I didn't forget to light your candle on the 15th! You are loved, and I miss you, especially your voice; I imagine you and Norman are having a good time playing Jeopardy with M. Trebek, you guys should give him a break lol.
Well, another year gone, more friends and family have joined you guys. I will cherish your memory always daddy, I love you.

Good morning Daddy! I am not sure where 5 years have gone, but I keep you in my heart always. I will light your candle and talk to you until we meet again, hopefully not before another 25 years pass.  Alexander, Nikki and I still speak of you and the things we miss about you; we share a laugh about you and Norman on a regular basis. I am gratefull my son got to know his grandfather until he was actually old enough to appreciate all you tried to teach him, and I hope you know that your presence, no matter how far the acutal distance, had an impact on him just as it did on me!

Good morning Daddy! I imagine you and Norman are having a relaxing day as usual; you guys should probably give Mr. Trebek a break, I am sure he just wants to hang out and talk without it being in the form of a question! Give my hubbie a big hug for me, and consider his hug to be from me to you.
All is well; Alex, Britt and Tae are healthy , life goes on always and all ways. You are thought of and loved, more than you would have ever known. Your pearls of wisdom live on, and will be passed on for many years to come!

Jack was like family.  

I met him when I returned to Canada to work at the Science Council of Canada.   And he was there at all the difficult and important periods of my life from my second marriage to the shiva at my daughter Louise’s funeral.  Jack will always have a special place in my heart.

Jack established a professional career, overcoming a tough childhood. His father had left and he had to be put in an orphanage until his mother could afford to bring him home.  Despite this, he knew he was loved and returned the emotion by bringing his elderly mother to Ottawa for her final years.  Jack had three children and while he may have sometimes struggled on how to be a father, he loved each of them very much.

A lover of classical music, he often said he would be content in old age if he could hear music and ‘conduct’ it.  

Rest in peace, Jack.



Truth, facts, knowledge, over all other things in this world. The most intelligent man I have known.

Will always hold dear our conversations during my visit, and any opportunity to learn and grow.

Love you, Grandpa Jack (I know you just absolutely loved it when I called you that hahaha.)

Jack was a friend who shared his wit, his gift with words, passion for tennis and movies, and a good joke. We laughed a lot. 


I remember Jack as a warm, loyal friend to those  who were dear to him and he was a person who was not interested in meaningless social conversation. He loved words and the world of ideas and loved to debate his loves and pet peeves.
Jack was a man who had the courage to do things his way and suffer the consequences of those decisions.
He was devoted to family and especially his wife Nikki .
  


You don't choose your family, you are stuck with them ;  choose your friends wisely.
Take everything people say with a grain of salt; the less that person matters to you, the bigger the grain.
Don't be in a relationship out of weakness, it will always fail.
Money doesn't buy happiness, it buys freedom.
You are a mixed race Jewish female; two of those things are obvious, make sure people know the other wherever you go.
There is no such thing as unconditional love, everyone has a condition.
Nobody has to love you except you.

Words my father told me as I grew up, and I live by them still. He chose me, he taught me, he loved me. For these things I will be eternally grateful and proud to call him daddy.
