On 12 January 2016, WW2 pilot (160 VLR Sqdn RAF), novelist, professor, inventor of the Air Force College, university administrator, founder of the UVic Elisabeth Jackson Scholarship in Theatre, backroom NDP politician. Born 17 May 1923 in North Vancouver to the late F. Ivor Jackson and Eva F. Macnaghten, pre-deceased by his beloved Elisabeth, friend Florence Reid, and sister Pamela Walden. Survived by his cherished children Lisa, Ivor (Nancy), Deirdre (Tom), Hugo (Ann) and Rachael (Peter), fifteen grandchildren Jessica, Miranda, Jackson, Hannah, Magdalene, James, Edwin, Tamsyn, Eric, James, Raphaella, Madeleine, Rebekah, Claire and Emma, eight great grandchildren Alexia, Adelina, Clara, Gwyneth, Isabella, Nicholas, Peter and Isaac, and his sister Betty Sutherland of Peachland, BC.
Memorial Service 23 January 2016 at 12:30 pm at First Memorial Funeral Service, 1155 Fort Street, Victoria BC V8V 3K9. Reception follows. Burial at 3:00 pm at the Ross Bay Cemetery.
