After battling a number of injuries and illnesses over the past couple of years, Wally succumbed to cancer. He fought until the end and lived his whole life to the fullest. Wally was surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife and love of his life for 64 years Norma, daughter Jodi Dagg (Jordon, Cole and Alynn), son Kal Russell (Alisa, Ali and Kade), cousin Cindy Skene and predeceased by his son Chad Russell (2015). Whether you called Wally - husband, father, uncle, colleague, principal, teacher, coach, mentor or friend, he has left a huge gap in the lives of those whom he has come in contact with over the years of living in Trail, North Vancouver and for the last 52 years in Victoria. He loved his family, his friends, his players and his schools. He had an extraordinary ability to bring people together with a common goal of being the best that they could be.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Parkland Secondary School Theatre, 10640 McDonald Park Road, North Saanich, BC at 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
The BC Cancer Society would greatly appreciate donations in lieu of flowers.
