Jennifer graduated from the Nursing Program at St. Paul’s Hospital in 1958. Following a year at North Vancouver Hospital she travelled to England and then to Kenya, staying for two years with her sister Elizabeth and family. Back in Vancouver, Jennifer earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UBC and worked in Mental Health for the remainder of her career.
In 1972, Jennifer married Dennis Stevenson. She embraced family life wholeheartedly as a mother to Dennis’s sons Victor and David, and later welcomed daughters Diana and Elizabeth.
A devoted member of St. Joseph’s Parish since arriving in Victoria in 1982, Jennifer volunteered in many capacities including singing in the choir, teaching catechism, bringing communion to shut-ins, and arranging flowers.
Jennifer had many interests including gardening, tennis, herbalism, meditation, and Reiki. Her final years were spent in care at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, where she enjoyed the wonderful staff and developed many friendships.
Predeceased by her loving husband Dennis, Jennifer is survived by her sister Elizabeth, daughters Diana (Ian) and Elizabeth, sons Victor (Char) and David, and many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
