As a long-time member of the Western Canada Wilderness Committee, Joan had a great love and appreciation for nature and was passionate about protecting the environment. She also loved dogs and volunteered at the SPCA. In earlier years after graduating from Mount View High School, she worked as a practical nurse and enjoyed travelling, camping and gardening. In later years she enjoyed the camaraderie of seniors dragon boat and outrigger paddling.
Above all, she loved caring for her family, especially the grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Marjorie and Frank Jenvey. Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband Luciano "Lucky", sons Tony (Mailyne), and Danny, sister Lois Ruffolo, and grandchildren, Valerie, Rino, and Bruno.
The family wishes to express thanks and appreciation to Dr. David MacNaughton, and Dr. Parbeen Pathak for their wonderful care and support of Joan over the years on her Parkinson's journey.
At Joan's request, no funeral or service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Victoria SPCA or Humane Society.
