John Peter Keller

Born on January 17, 1942, in Timmins, ON. His family moved to Stave Falls, BC, when he was a young boy. After high school, John started in construction with the BC Ministry of Forests. That is when he met Gail, they married in 1965. They settled in Sidney, BC, to raise their family until her death. John had a brilliant mathematical mind which led him to learn about computers. He worked with BC Systems for 30 years as a Computer Analyst, wrote intricate software, and instructed classes on computer applications.

John dedicated his life to his family and to his community. He gave 26 years to the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department. John was blessed to find love again and married Pat in 2009. John loved to travel, many cherished memories across Canada and the US. John loved woodworking and carpentry, skills he was always happy to share with his family and friends.

John is survived by his wife, Pat; daughters Dana (Mark) and Dawn (Christina); grandchildren Hailey, Adam, Abigail; sister Bernice (Doug, Curtis); stepdaughters Shawna (Blair, Calla, Julia) and Sheri (Richard), his sweet cat Boots, and a large extended family and friends. Predeceased in death by his brother, Raymond; son, Chad; first wife, Gail; parents, Kay & John.

Special thanks to John’s doctors, nurses, and support staff for the compassionate care they provided in his health challenges of the past several years. Interment at First Memorial. Celebration of life will be held in 2025. A donation in John’s memory can be made to SPH Palliative Care Unit or a charity of your choice.
