Julia was born on November 19 in Gunn, Alberta to Rose and Clements Rocko. She grew up on a farm in Onoway and had four older sisters, Anne, Maria, Sally and Helen and two younger brothers Henry and Joe; all who are predeceased.
After she graduated she moved to Edmonton to start her career and while there she met her future husband, Herbert Wilkerson. They were married December 18, 1955 and had 64 years together until Herb's passing in 2019. They had three children; James (Maria), Christine, Melanie (Robert).
Julia is survived by her three loving children, four grandchildren - Patrick, Anna, Ryan and Mariah and four great grandchildren - Lucas, Zoe, Jake and Amy, and sister-in-laws Patricia, Ann, Doreen and Laverne and many nieces and nephews.
Julia was a very caring person throughout her life; caring for neighbourhood children, while being a stay at home Mom, while their parents worked and later in life worked as a Nurse Home Care aide taking care of the elderly in their homes.
A Celebration of Life will be planned closer to summer when the flowers are in full bloom and veggies are growing as that was Julia's, an avid gardener, favourite time of year.
