Born in Vancouver June 25, 1944, Leida grew up in Victoria, graduating from St.Ann’s Academy and the University of Victoria, where she was active in the theatre department. She was predeceased by her parents John and Jessie (Xavier) Grant, sister Sheila, brothers Martin and Ian. Survived by siblings Norman, Pamela and Mark (Yoriko), many cousins and extended family.
Her varied professional career included teaching, government administration, real estate sales, mortgage development, and property appraisals. She later enjoyed welcoming guests to Pemberton Meadows as a B&B host.
Leida loved her cats, enjoyed all types of music, maintained a wide circle of friends, and travelled extensively. She was a loyal friend, and a generous supporter of many charities, especially those involving animal welfare.
Following a lengthy battle with Alzheimers, Leida passed away Dec.23, 2022. The exceptional care she received from the dedicated staff at St.Charles Manor is greatly appreciated.
