Liliana Fung Cheah Bell

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved child, Liliana Bell, who was taken away too soon on December 29, 2024, at the tender age of 6 weeks 2 days. Liliana was born on November 15, 2024. She passed away in the warm arms of her parents. Though her time on earth was brief, she lived a life filled with love and happiness. Her gentle, sweet, and strong spirit left an indelible mark on those fortunate to have felt her presence.

We are so grateful that we were able to get to know her, care for her and spend a magical Christmas with her. Her favourite activities were warm cuddles, naps and drinking milk. Liliana will be forever remembered and loved by her parents, Simon and Naomi, her sister, Mia, her grandparents, and her extended family.

She spent 3 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and 2 days in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Victoria General Hospital, where she benefited from blood transfusions. (We urge you to donate blood to Canada Blood Services if possible, as your blood could save life, like little Liliana.)

Liliana exhibited an admirable resilience against the odds of life. In her own quiet way, she taught us about the power of hope and the strength of the human spirit. It was this resilience that allowed her to come back alive with a heartbeat, enabling her loved ones to say their final goodbyes.

A Celebration of Life for Liliana will be held on January 6, 2025, at 4:00 PM at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1155 Fort St, Victoria, BC. This gathering seeks not only to mourn the loss of a beautiful life, but also to celebrate the brief yet profound impact Liliana had on us all. In these moments of grief, we find solace in the memory of her sweet smile and gentle demeanor, cherishing the time we had with her and the lessons we learned from her.
