Lorraine was predeceased by her loving husband Ian and she leaves three children and her four grandchildren Gordon (Joel, Rebecca), Paul and his partner Mike (Rachel), and Tracy and her husband Daniel (Nolan). Lorraine also leaves her brother John Stewart, Eulala Mills (Rachel’s Mother) and her friends.
Lorraine was born in Victoria and the family moved to Vancouver in Point Grey. Lorraine completed her education and held a position with Parks and Recreation in Vancouver for several years. She travelled extensively as a young woman with her friends to Hawaii and Europe. Lorraine met Ian through an introduction by relatives and relocated to Victoria to start their life together. Lorraine lived a full satisfying life as a wife, mother and grandmother. Ian and Lorraine operated several successful businesses together and were life time members of the Capital City Yacht Club. The family spent many memorable times boating through the pacific northwest.
Lorraine was an excellent cook and catered many events. Lorraine enjoyed crafting at Goward house, aquafit at Oak Bay recreation and her choir group.
We will miss Lorraine and her gift to make everyone who entered her home feel loved and welcome. Lorraine was a great story teller and had a fabulous sense of humour. Not a day passed without full belly laughter.
We would like to acknowledge and thank Royal Jubilee Hospice for their wonderful care and attention in her last days. The family request that donation be made in Lorraine’s name to Victoria Hospice Society.
There will be no public service based on Lorraine’s request.
