Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Margaret immigrated to Canada in 1956 (first to Calgary, Alta, then Vancouver, BC).
As a youngster, Margaret enjoyed swimming, figure skating and ballet. Later, when she met the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Nicol Hepworth (December 20, 1936- October 8, 1998), she added skiing, boating, hiking, cabin-life and gardening to her list of passions.
She was happiest outside, with the sun on her face, her hands in the soil and a good book close by.
Sharing a deep appreciation for the outdoors, Margaret and Bob grew two children whom they nurtured a deep regard for all living things.
Trained in secretarial management in Glasgow, Margaret worked as a Telephone Operator at Bell Canada, a Word Processor Operator at the Department of Anatomy, University of British Columbia and the Vancouver School Board, before retiring to a life of leisure in Whistler Mountain, then Vancouver Island.
Throughout her life, Margaret enjoyed some deep lasting friendships, a fierce level of independence and a compassionate, kind, humorous demeanour.
She and her family are extremely thankful for the excellent care she received at Saanich Peninsula Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Ian Mackenzie, MD MAiD Provider.
Margaret is survived by her children Scott/Barb, Reid/Elizabeth, her brother George/Natalie Erskine and her
nieces/nephews.
At Margaret’s request, there will be no service.
