All I can say, is that she was simply the best & that everyone she touched was lucky…. especially me.
Mom left us on October 20th, 2024. She had suffered from dementia for over five years and even though she didn’t remember us towards the end, she knew she loved us and we could feel it. On the day before she passed, we were given a special time with her. She was very lucid, full of life and was smiling ear to ear as everyone came to visit as she was able to be the belle of the ball at one last party.
Marian was born in Vancouver and raised by her parent’s Bill & Myrtle along side her older brother, Harry.
She met our dad James while working at BC Tel. They quickly married and it wasn’t long before they moved to their beloved house on Mount Tolmie where they raised their kids and lived for 53 years.
Mom was full of life, always up for fun and loved a good party. She had a wicked sense of humour, an infectious laugh and a very beautiful smile. We all miss her so much.
Marian was also a good friend. She had many girlfriends that she loved to travel, exercise and lunch with. She also loved to go out dancing at the legion. We are so thankful to her good friend Brenda Lee for helping to keep her social and having fun up until the very end. Thank you, Brenda xo.
Mom is survived by her son Douglas, daughter Kathryn (Troy) and son Robert (Laurie) as well as grandchildren Nina, Sean, Samantha & Carson.
We will be holding a celebration of life for Mom at the Legion in late spring or early summer. I will put out a notice when we know the exact date.
