Marlaine "Marnie" Vila Vandale

Marlaine known by her family and friends simply as Marnie passed away peacefully November 2nd 2021 at the Victoria General Hospital, in Victoria B.C

Marnie was born in Vancouver B.C, she lived in central B.C Kamloops area for her early years, she later moved to Vancouver Island in the late 60s where she resided.

Marnie worked for many years at the Hudson Bays store on Douglas Street, where she was well know for her excellent customer service. Marnie was known by family and friends as an excellent listener who would always give sound advice.

She loved to garden, she loved her numerous pets, Billy, Sam, and her beloved Chi Chi. She was a wonderful neighbor always ready to help out or lend an ear. Marnie had a very special talent for picking the right card for special occasions and that will be deeply missed.

She is predeceased by her mother, Lois Fraser, father James Fraser, brother Jim Fraser and son Terry Vandale. She is survived by her son Rob (daughter in law Rhonda), daughter Maureen, grandchildren, Tamilynn, Joshua, Brandi, Dana, Jennifer and Xavier, sister in law Delarie, niece Britney, nephew Brandon and many great grandchildren.

We wish to offer special thanks to her neighbors, Genna and Gary, Wendy and Serge and Peggy. We especially would like to thank her dear friend Marta for being there at her bedside during her passing, on that note Thank You Marta for your strength and support. Thanks also to Tiger for being there.

A special heart filled Thank You to the nursing staff and Doctors at Victoria General Hospital for the comfort and compassion they showed Marnie in her last days.

Mom (Nana Shortcake), you will forever be in our hearts, we look forward to the day we can be reunited, God Bless, rest in peace Mom.
