

She is survived by her son, Rod, daughter, Muriel, and grandson, James. She was pre-deceased by her husband, William (Bill), and son, Jim.
Peggy was born near Gillette, Wyoming. After attending college in Dillon, Montana, she taught in Kalispell, Montana before moving to Fairbanks, Alaska. Peggy taught school on three area Air Force bases and worked at various jobs, including at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks library. She spent a summer studying French at the Sorbonne in Paris. After returning to Alaska, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks and taught at public schools in Fairbanks and Minneapolis.
After marrying Bill and having two sons, the family moved to Calgary in 1961. Peggy was an avid skier, hiker, and bird watcher, and spent several vacations as a volunteer trail-builder in various U.S. National Parks. She also worked in a clerical capacity at the first walk-in medical clinic in Canada when it opened at Market Mall.
Peggy and Bill moved to Victoria in 1991, where Peggy served as a member of Victoria Parks & Recreation and was closely involved in fundraising for the Emily Carr statue at the corner of Belleville and Government St.
Burial took place at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Victoria Hospitals Foundation.
