Reg passed away peacefully in the company of his family at the age of 88. Reg is survived by his loving wife Barbara of 65 years, his children Philip (Doreen), Susan (Tom), his grandchildren Kyle (Heather), Cheryl (Cory), Katie (JayJ), Ben (Maleen), great grandchildren Catherine, Daniel, Jack, Charlie and Thomas.
Reg was born in London, England and he moved to Australia in 1952 to work on the "Snowy Mountain Hydro Electric Project". Barbara followed, and they were married in Cooma, New South Wales, Australia in 1953. They immigrated to Canada in 1956 where they started a family. Reg was employed by the City of Victoria for 33 years where he rose to the position of Superintendent of Public Works before retiring in 1989. He loved his job, the people and he and Barbara made many life long friends.
Reg enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening, long walks and most of all the company of his family. This wonderful man will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Kevin Horgan, Dr. Neil Crofton, Dr. Michael Schachter, the entire Dialysis team at the Renal Ward, all the nurses and doctors that have cared for him at the Royal Jubilee Hospital over the past 8 years, Community Health Services (especially) Heather Dyer and Stephanie. Your care and compassion for Reg was incredible and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
