A plaque on his wall displayed the words of his favorite scripture verse: Psalm 46:10, 'Be still and know that I am God." His life reflected these words as he demonstrated this reverence and trust in God, passing this legacy on to his children.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He deeply touched so many lives by the way he valued others, his generosity and love, and his sense of humour.
Born in Iran, he moved to Canada as a young man to study engineering. He met his future wife, married and raised his family in Victoria, BC. He operated a successful Electrical Engineering Consulting business, Robert Freundlich & Associates in Bastion Square downtown for many years.
Robert is predeceased by his wife, Diana Freundlich (nee Whicher) in 2017, his parents, Arpad and Ziba and four of his siblings. He is survived by his four children: Hilary (Bill) Dynes, Amanda (Jim) Banman, Clive (Carla) Freundlich, and Timothy (Renata) Freundlich; nine cherished grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, of which he was most proud.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Dignity Memorial 1155 Fort Street in Victoria, on December 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.
