FANUCCHI, Rosa Maria (nee Gaudio) Born in Domanico, in the province of Cosensa in the Calabria, Italy on January 27th, 1935, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Victoria Hospice, Royal Jubilee Hospital on June 5th, 2025. Rosa arrived in Canada in 1960 at the age of 25. She met the love of her life Dante Elio at the Leonardo da Vinci Centre, and they married in December 1965. They welcomed their beloved daughter Barbera a few years later and enjoyed 42 wonderful years together prior to Dante’s passing on March 3, 2008. Rosa is survived by her daughter Barbera (Christopher) and her brothers and sisters Gaetano, Franco, Maria, Evelina, Olga, Silvana, Clara and Giovanna along with her many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of Rosa’s life will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 4725 Falaise Drive on Friday, June 13 at 10:00AM. Interment at Royal Oak Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon or to a charity of one’s choice.
